For this to happen after the theological chaos & confusion wrought by the last pope - the Jesuit from Argentina - a person who was unsuited for the task of leadership and who was self-evidently both psychologically and emotionally unstable, is something of a catastrophe for most faithful Catholics.
It is almost as if there has been some sort of theological coup inside the Vatican and it has been surreptitiously infiltrated by people who are intent on destroying what the Catholic Church once claimed it stood for by prostrating itself before the money and assertions of militant Islam.
The Catholic bishops around the world need to tone down their obsequious papolatry and start to push back against this disturbing trend by speaking up and telling the American pope that he is disastrously wrong in continuing the Argentinian pope’s appeasement policy. Jules Gomez’s comparison with the Apostle Paul’s approach to the uniqueness of Christ’s claims in the Greek cities of Asia-Minor two millennia ago makes a very telling argument. I hope someone is listening out there amongst the Catholic clergy.

If Islam eventually collapses, as some Christian eschatologists expect it to, then I believe we’re well on our way to seeing that happen. God have mercy on us

The Catholic Curch as we knew it is kaput. So is the Western civilization.
